Star ranking: 4.0 stars for how nice they look. 3.0 for wrinkling--this is to be expected but these really wrinkle. 4.0 stars for quality for price. 2.0 stars for the weird size of the pillow shams. This duvet cover and shams are much heavier than I expected. And, I was surprised to find the shams inside, for my last duvet cover was the cover only; however, the shams are a weird size--they do not fit my regular standard pillows. The color shown in the image is true to what you receive: an ivory. Upon opening them (and they are packaged nicely), the texture was soft and satiny--really lovely. I washed them right away. After washing, there was a lot of wrinkling, particularly with the shams. And some of the soft and satiny feel went away with the washing, however, I expect as they are washed they will become softer--or if I use a fabric softer, which I do not usually use (I did throw in a softener sheet). The wrinkling in the duvet cover wasn't as bad as the shams. This duvet cover is large enough for a queen, though I have a full comforter and it fit fine but there was some fit problem - a queen comforter would be best for this duvet cover. I'd planned on using this on my guest bed, but I slept with it last night and may keep it myself--comfy! (I ended up putting it in the guest room since it's a queen). It has button closures, a look that I like - though I'd consider one day replacing the buttons with something more decorative, maybe. The shams look like they may be for those "European style" pillows--the more square ones but they aren't big enough for that so I don't know what pillows are supposed to fit here. The shams would certainly have to be ironed--see photos of shams below-lots of wrinkles!: I'd just taken them out of the dryer so it wasn't even that they sat in there. As I wrote above, the comforter didn't wrinkle as much. The wrinkling wasn't a surprise for me, as I know that cotton is going to wrinkle--esp 100% cotton. My other duvet is supima cotton, and it wrinkles as well but not as bad as this duvet. But I'm a fool for cotton, so I think it's worth it.I can't speak for the 1000 thread count part - I do know in my research that just because a product is marked a certain thread count doesn't meant it's the best most softest or well-made bedding, but this duvet is quite nice and feels "heavy" but still comfortable. Easy insertion of my down comforter. If you can overlook the wrinkling and the weird size shams, it's a good buy. I'd imagine if ironed it would bring back some of the satiny-softness and look a lot better - but who has time to iron?I got this duvet cover set along with a "1000 Thread Count Oversized Olympic Queen Sheet Set Solid" (both in burgundy). You would think that if you purchase the same series items from the same manufacturer in the same color, they would match. However, the sheet set color is darker and has more wine hint, while the duvet cover set is lighter and definitely has more scarlet in it.All bedding still look nice together, but the difference clashes a bit.The fabric quality is very nice - pleasant to touch and has a luxury look - but beware that it wrinkles like hell (I followed the instructions - cold wash, tumble dry low, immediately got it out of the dryer). Also the stitches leave much to be desired - you can see uneven stitches, and the edge stitch of one pillow sham got torn for ~6 inches when I tried to put a pillow in it. I don't wrestle my pillows - there wasn't a lot of effort, so I guess I'll have to be extra careful.Excellent Duvet cover. I looked and looked and looked online to find a high thread count, quality heavy duvet for my king sized down comforter. The dimensions of this king duvet are ample, it is very bright white and is not flimsy like some cotton duvets found in stores. Has a hotel quality, luxury feel and the king size pillow shams that come with it are a bonus! Good buy, high quality.Very thick. Good quality. Not silky soft, but still comfortable.I love the quality of the duvet. Love the egyption cotton and it fits perfectly on my bed. I'd recommendUpdate: the bottom sheet started ripping and generally falling apart.Original:wonderful thick cotton sheets.Beautiful, lovely weight , great color. Going to look for sheets to match. Purchased to enclose new silk comforters on recent trip to ChinaThe price is reasonable but for slightly more you can find a much better quality duvet cover. I would recommend using it in a guest room but not for everyday use.
